We eliminated the bundles, long-term contracts, crazy fees, and just left the good part: lightning-fast, incredibly reliable, awesome internet service, at one fair price. We built our own technology so that we could deliver the best internet at the lowest cost, without sacrificing quality or customer experience. Our goal is to delight our customers with the products we build and customer care they experience; and we’ve successfully done that since 2015.

In the United States, according to the Federal Communications Commission, more than 60% of all households only have one choice when it comes to broadband providers. Most communities are dominated by one provider, resulting in poor service and high prices.

Equity is about having a level playing field. In the world of broadband access, we are far from having equity or a level playing field. Starry set out to change that.

Access to affordable, high quality broadband has never been more important than during our nation’s response to the COVID-19 health crisis. If it isn’t clear by now: working and schooling from home doesn’t work if you don’t have quality internet access. And quality, affordable internet access isn’t evenly distributed across our communities.

Most people think of this digital divide as a rural vs. urban challenge, and while it’s true that many rural areas today lack adequate broadband connectivity, it’s equally true that many families living in neighborhoods in our densest cities also lack access to that same broadband connection. In some ways, the urban digital divide can seem even more cruel because the availability of super-fast broadband is so close, yet remains very much out of reach due to costs and broadband redlining - both consequences of an uncompetitive broadband market.

We strive to break the stranglehold of broadband monopolies on our communities. And if we’re successful, we’ll create more equitable and affordable access to educational and economic opportunities in the communities we serve.

Additionally, we’re expanding our cooperative engineering program to develop relationships with a wider array of universities and engineering programs including HBCUs.

  1. Step 1. Our interview process begins with an introductory phone screen with a recruiter
  2. Step 2. Followed by a phone screen with the hiring manager
  3. *For our engineering roles: we include a brief “homework assignment” as part of our initial screening.
  4. Step 4. Then, we move on to team interviews and if all continues to progress well, an offer!
