HELPING EARLY STAGE STARTUPS SAVE TIME & MONEY🦸🏻‍♂️⏰

We are making it easier for founders to get their startups off the ground without paying huge legal fees. The market we are tackling is huge -- there are unicorn startups that just do corporate compliance, cap table management, contract management, contract signing, and so on; our software replaces the need for multiple point solutions with an integrated platform that saves founders time and money.

VALUES THAT HELP US TO ATTAIN OUR GOALS 🌍

We founded Capbase to make it easier for anyone to build a startup on a solid legal + financial foundation, even if they don't have access to a top tier startup lawyer or connections to Silicon Valley. Our goal is to democratize access to entrepreneurship and the startup funding ecosystem.

As a team, we value:
✨ transparency and open communication
✨ autonomy
✨ responsibility

We're a remote-first company; we don't care where or when you work as long as you get the job done. We have built a strong collaborative company culture by hiring humble, smart and empathic people who like building great software.

OUR DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSIVITY PRACTICES 🤎 🌈 🤲🏾

Diversity means diversity across all spectrums, including race, ethnicity, culture, sexuality and gender identity. We believe that building a diverse team is critical to our success as a company and diversity is important to the personal values of the founders and company leadership.

We practice diversity by:
1. recruiting diverse talent to join the team -- we have employees in 13 different countries and our team is ~36% female
2. encouraging connections among team members and building a culture of trust & empathy

Equity to our team means recognizing that each person has different circumstances and supporting them with the resources & opportunities they need to achieve success within the company. When we hire someone, we are making a commitment to invest in their success at the company. Not all employees have the same background knowledge or learning style, and it is important to adapt how we onboard employees and support their ongoing work to their individual needs and circumstances.

Inclusivity is a mindset or way of doing things that makes individuals feel accepted and welcome, where disagreements can be constructively resolved and where differences can be cherished. Diversity can be quantified with metrics, but inclusivity in the workplace is something deeper and more important -- it gets at how people feel when they work at our company.

PRACTICING SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE & CREATING CHANGE IN THE INDUSTRY✨

We maintain open communication channels between employees and leadership, in both group and 1-on-1 settings, and strive to be as responsive as possible to any workplace issues brought to our attention.

We do our best to hire humble, empathetic and smart people to join the team and give them the autonomy and space to do their job. We wouldn't hire someone if we didn't trust them to get things done. That means we also trust them when they need to take time off to take care of a sick child, deal with mental health issues, take a personal day, celebrate a religious holiday or anything else that might come up as they live their lives.

Both Capbase founders and all managers have regular 1-on-1s with every single employee to check in on how they are doing and get feedback on how we can improve the workplace environment to make them succeed.

Capbase is a partner organization of Opportunity Hub and HBCUvc. We support both organizations with financial contributions and our founders serve as mentors for both organizations' educational programs. We are committed to making the world of startups and technology a more diverse and inclusive place.
