GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY ONE PAIR OF COMFY SOCKS AT A TIME 🧦
For every item we sell, we donate an item to those in need, at risk, or experiencing homelessness. Since socks are the most requested clothing item in homeless shelters, our donations often allow organizations to reallocate resources to address other pressing line items. Underwear and t-shirts closely follow as the #2 and #3 items respectively, so we donate an item for every item sold for these products, too! In addition to donating products, we seek to shift the narrative surrounding homelessness, from highlighting the inspiring work of our Giving Partners (homeless shelters and community organizations that distribute Bombas donation product) via customer emails and social media to debunking myths of how folks fall into the vicious cycle of homelessness on our website.
We also pride ourselves in helping bridge the gap between our corporate partners who are recently looking to increase their giveback efforts and our Giving Partners, who are doing so much good but are often under resourced. We saw a spike in giveback interest particularly during the onset of the pandemic, and we’re proud to say many of those partnerships continue on today.
Through these donations and forged partnerships, we aim to provide dignity, respect, and comfort to those who need it most -- after all, this is the reason why Bombas exists.

The tech industry in general does not do a great job at creating opportunities for underrepresented people in tech, and we are trying to help that change. White cis men control the majority of leadership roles, making it more difficult for underrepresented people to get hired or even want to be hired by certain companies. More recently in the tech industry there have been more opportunities for underrepresented people at entry/mid-levels so that they can check off some boxes on their DEI strategy. As we look for members to join our team at any level (from entry, to mid, to senior+) we are always looking for a culture “add” instead of the industry standard “culture fit.” If someone is a “fit” then the team you are hiring becomes more of the same, but if someone is an “add” we are creating a more diverse team.
